A fencing pin (also called a barrier fencing pin or steel barrier pin) is a long round steel rod with a shepherd’s-crook hook at the top and a tapered point at the bottom. Hammer it into the ground and hang barrier mesh, hazard tape or rope from the hook to create a quick, visible temporary safety barrier. Work-hardened mild steel stays sturdy and durable outdoors.

5. How to install

Step by step: 1. Mark the pin positions (recommended every 5.0 m along the barrier line). 2. Hold the pin vertically with the pointed end down. 3. Hammer the top of the pin until it stands firm in the ground. 4. Hang barrier mesh, hazard tape or rope from the shepherd’s-crook hook. 5. Add more pins for extra stability in wind.

Tip: Use smooth pins for soft ground and ribbed or heavy-duty 14 mm pins for hard or rocky soil. Remove and reuse when the job is done.
